For the bottom picture, did you use the macro setting for the foreground with the ice on the branch? It looks really good. For the top one, did you hold the camera by your knees or something? Also came out great. Winter in NY is here to stay, so keep taking your great pics.
The top photo is of the Great Lawn in Central Park. I was so amazed that the grass was still green--looks like a weird frozen algae-filled pond or somthing. Pic was taken at the south tip of the lawn.
