New York is Melting

When I think of melting snow in New York, I usually think of gray slush, slippery puddles, and grimy subway floors. Yesterday, I looked again.

Are you becoming a budding photographer ;)

For the bottom picture, did you use the macro setting for the foreground with the ice on the branch? It looks really good. For the top one, did you hold the camera by your knees or something? Also came out great. Winter in NY is here to stay, so keep taking your great pics.

The top photo is of the Great Lawn in Central Park. I was so amazed that the grass was still green--looks like a weird frozen algae-filled pond or somthing. Pic was taken at the south tip of the lawn.

Very nice bokeh on the second pic. Getting that on a compact camera is pretty impressive

Vermis,
Its been a while since I've checked your blog. I just wanted to tell you after reading a bunch of the recent posts... You're getting quite good at this!
(also I'm honored to make it into at least a few of your 'First times at age 26' post)
